The rapid development of Russian-Zimbabwean relations over the past few years has borne its fruits: on November 25th, 2022, during the working visit of the delegation of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Moscow, the parties signed an intergovernmental Agreement on mutual recognition of education. This long-awaited and important act has opened new opportunities and prospects for Zimbabwean applicants who want to get a prestigious higher education at Russian state universities and build a career in any country of the world, including Zimbabwe, without additional procedures for recognizing a diploma of higher education obtained in Russia.
The signing of a number of November agreements between Russia and Zimbabwe will mark the beginning of a new era, based on the powerful integration of cultures and mutual exchange of scientific, educational and technical experiences of both countries. Among the announced projects are agricultural programs and training of technical specialists for the industry, creation of a modern satellite communication system in Zimbabwe, joint projects in the space industry with Roscomos corporation, launch of the Zimbabwean artificial Earth satellite and many others.One of the most important and priority areas of bilateral scientific and technical cooperation is creation of the Center for Mineral Resources Research at the University of Zimbabwe. The activities and development of this Center will allow to conduct fundamental and applied scientific research, and most importantly, raise scientists and highly qualified professionals, sought-after in the spheres of education and research in the African region countries.RACUS Group of Russian State Universities, which has been recruiting Zimbabwean youth to study at Russian universities since 1995, has opened admission for the 2023/2024 academic year for applicants from Zimbabwe and other countries to the TOP 20 Russian universities belonging to RACUS group. For them, there are 1,200 programs with training in Russian, English and French. The signing of numerous cooperation agreements between Russia and Zimbabwe has made training even more comfortable and promising.
