On October 29, 2026, the third Russia–Africa Summit, one of the largest international events of the year, concluded in Moscow, bringing together representatives of 48 of the 54 African states, with 22 countries represented at the highest level, i.e. by their presidents.
Education and the training of professional personnel for the African continent have become central areas of further partnership for the regions.
Today, a record high number of 40,000 students from all 54 African countries are pursuing higher education at Russian universities, with an annual increase of about 10%. Russia is consistently expanding cooperation in education: the number of full and partial scholarships is growing, inter-university projects and new formats of training specialists for Africa’s promising labor market are being developed.
Medicine, engineering, IT, energy, agriculture, and economics: the knowledge gained at Russian universities today will work for the development of African states tomorrow. The main outcome is obvious: education is becoming one of the strongest bridges between Russia and Africa—a bridge designed for generations.
Since 1991, the RACUS GROUP organization has been systematically working in African countries, promoting Russian higher education and supporting international students at all stages of admission and study. Over the years of its activity, more than 10,000 students from African states have received higher education in Russia through RACUS GROUP.
In the 2027 academic year, RACUS GROUP plans to significantly expand the scale of education events in African countries, increase the number of presentations, exhibitions, and consultation programs, and bring the admission of students from Africa to Russian state universities belonging to the RACUS group to 2,500 people.
