From January 10 to January 16, 2026, a delegation from the RACUS GROUP of Russian State Universities presented Russian higher education at international educational exhibitions held in the largest cities of Kenya - Nairobi and Mombasa. Kenya is the first of 77 countries in which RACUS GROUP plans to hold various educational promotional and exhibition events in 2026 in order to promote Russian higher education and attract foreign youth to study.
The delegates of the RACUS GROUP organisation were the only participants of the exhibition representing Russian higher educational institutions. Thanks to the extensive advertising, the Russian stand attracted a large number of schoolchildren, their parents and relatives interested in obtaining high-quality and affordable higher education. The exhibition was also attended by delegations from countries such as the United Kingdom, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
The schedule of the RACUS GROUP delegation's trip to Kenya included not only participation in exhibitions, but also seminars entitled "Studying in Russia - 2026" at 4 major international schools in Nairobi and Mombasa. All visitors to the exhibitions and seminars were presented with promotional, informational and souvenir materials, detailed information about the study opportunities at the universities of the RACUS GROUP, highly-demanded specialties, conditions and step-by-step admission procedures. The visitors of the exhibition showed the greatest interest in the Russian universities actively advertised and promoted by RACUS GROUP in Kenya, which are members of the RACUS GROUP: Mari State University, Tambov State University, Astrakhan State Medical University, Saratov State Medical University, Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy, Platov South-Russian State Polytechnic University. These are universities offering programs in English and French.
International students contribute to cultural diversity and global understanding. They are ambassadors of international cooperation and often serve as a link between countries and communities. While many countries are tightening their approaches towards admitting international students (especially to issuing visas), Russia continues to preserve and strengthen its traditions of academic openness to countries in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. It is an important task of the RACUS GROUP organisation to confirm its open position and draw the attention of the international community to Russia as a hospitable, stable and promising country for talented applicants from all over the world.
