North-Caucasus Federal University

The North Caucasus Federal University is famous for its high level of multidisciplinary education: 186 educational programs are available for studying at the university. International students have an opportunity to study Bachelor’s programs such as Oil and Gas Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and others with instruction in English. North-Caucasus Federal University is rightly proud of its strong faculty. About 80% of professors have PhD degree, and the average age of the faculty is just 45 years. The employees of the departments have deep knowledge in the relevant field as well as extensive teaching experience, which allows them to successfully introduce new technologies into the educational process. Every year foreign professors and experts from the leading universities of the world come to the university for experience exchange, lectures, and joint research work with the use of modern, from the technical point of view, equipment of the university. Strong teaching staff and the introduction of innovative technologies in the education allowed the University to take a leading place among the federal universities of Russia.

Classes are held in 47 modern buildings which have everything necessary for comfortable work and rest. Classrooms are equipped with multimedia equipment. Technological laboratories are open for practical classes and applied research. All students get access to the resources of the scientific library, which was recognized as the best at the prestigious Education and Science competition held within the framework of the International Leaders’ Summit in Oxford. Students have over 2.5 million storage units and a regularly updated electronic catalog at their disposal.

University programs are a reasonable balance of lectures, seminars, colloquiums, laboratory and practical classes. In order to train competitive specialists in demand on the international market, the university has established close ties with leading state institutions and private enterprises of the country. Every year, students undergo educational and work practice under the guidance of professionals and travel to other regions of Russia.

Over the past 5 years, the number of foreign applicants to the North-Caucasus Federal University has increased sevenfold. Today, students from 58 countries of the world study at the university. 50 programs with instruction in English are open for international students, and 43 of them provide an opportunity to receive a double degree upon successful graduation. The number of programs taught in English increases every year.

The university is a member of 7 international professional associations. It has signed more than 100 contracts with foreign universities. Eminent foreign researchers and practitioners on short-term mobility programs join the university’s own teaching staff every year.

Since the university participates in such international educational programs as Erasmus+Jean Monnet, TEMPUS — JPCR Tuning Russia, Erasmus Mundus Action 2 “MULTIC”, etc., students have the opportunity to join exchange programs at partner universities and apply for scholarships in the countries of the European Union, within the scholarship programs DAAD, Erasmus Mundus Action 1, Etudier en France and others.

The university has a well-developed scientific and educational infrastructure as well as modern equipment in classrooms and laboratories, which allows students to conduct fundamental and applied research. 

The training of specialists in demand in the international labor market is a key objective for the University. NCFU has strong ties with leading companies and government institutions of Russia, where the students of the university undertake practice. A large partner network of leading public and private companies of Russia allows students to gain invaluable professional experience first-hand.

Every year students travel to various regions of Russia different in topography and climate where they traditionally undertake educational and work practice in order to consolidate theoretical training.

Graduates of the university receive general fundamental and specialized practical training necessary to be specialists in demand in the labor market.

The university awards graduates a diploma of the Russian state standard which certifies the receipt of higher education and indicates the degree/qualification and specialty received.

Socially active students are invited to join a volunteer movement or a self-government program.

If a student plans to spend summer holidays in Russia, after the session he will be able to go to the resorts of the Black Sea or take a sightseeing tour around famous cities. The university organizes mass trips in July and August.
