Mari State University is located in the very center of Russia (European part) in the capital of the Mari El Republic, the city of Yoshkar-Ola, where a variety of cultures coexist.
Yoshkar-Ola was founded in 1584, and today this city with a rich history attracts many tourists from all over the world, who nicknamed it the "corner of Europe in the center of Russia" due to the European lifestyle, stunning architecture and picturesque sights, including the famous Bruges embankment.
Student life
The University provides each foreign student with accommodation in one of nine comfortable student hostels (2-3 people per room), which are equipped with everything needed: furniture, bedding, study rooms, shared kitchens, laundry, free high-speed Internet access, that is, everything necessary for a comfortable stay. There is a large number of shopping malls, stores and cafes within walking distance.
There is a student creativity center and sports sections on the territory of the University, the doors of which are open to all international students. Educational and entertainment events held at the University will make the life of students truly rich and interesting and will help to make new friends from all over the world. For the comfort of students, there are several student canteens on the campus, where you can find a variety of Russian and international dishes to your liking at very affordable prices.
