Pharmacy

The Pharmacy program trains specialists in the fields of development, production, storage, and distribution of pharmaceutical products. Students gain knowledge in pharmacology, chemistry, drug technology, and the organization of pharmaceutical activities. This program combines medical, chemical, and managerial training. The Pharmacist qualification is equivalent to a Master's degree, allowing graduates to apply for PhD studies in a related field.

Upon graduation, a Pharmacy student should be proficient in:

  • human anatomy and physiology: structural and functional features of organs and systems, necessary to understand how medicines work;
  • basics of pathological anatomy and physiology: disease mechanisms affecting drug selection and efficiency;
  • clinical symptoms and syndromes—to ensure proper medication selection for different conditions;
  • diagnostic principles— to understand clinical data from a pharmaceutical perspective;
  • treatment methods: drug-based therapeutic regimens for various diseases;
  • pharmacology: mechanisms of action, indications, dosages, side effects, and drug interactions;
  • disease prevention: the pharmacist’s role in advising on and appointing of preventive medications;
  • emergency care basics: knowledge of emergency drugs and its appointing regulations;
  • legal and ethical principles: the legal framework of pharmaceutical practice;
  • epidemiology and infectious diseases: selection and monitoring of antimicrobial agents;
  • pharmaceutical management: fundamentals of running pharmacies, warehouses, and pharmaceutical factories.
