On May 15-16, 2025, the city of Khemisset (Kingdom of Morocco) successfully hosted an international education exhibition where the RACUS organization proudly represented Russian state universities which are members of its group. At the Study in Russia—2025 stand, visitors received comprehensive information about opportunities for obtaining quality and affordable higher education in Russia.
Khemisset is the administrative center of its namesake province, located between the major metropolitan areas of Rabat and Meknes. It is actively developing thanks to the decentralization strategy and infrastructure expansion in inland regions of Morocco. The national government and local authorities are implementing initiatives to transform Khemisset into a key regional hub focused on sustainable development and increasing investments in construction, transportation, education, and healthcare. Under the national Maroc Vert plan, special attention is being paid to modernizing the agricultural sector and developing agricultural technology clusters.
These regional particularities directly influenced visitors’ interest at the Group of Russian State Universities RACUS stand. The most sought-after fields of study were:
- Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences: due to developing animal husbandry and farming in the region
- Engineering and Construction: amid major urban and transportation infrastructure projects being implemented in the region
- Medicine (particularly General Medicine and Pharmacy): taking into consideration national healthcare accessibility priorities and regional staff shortages
- Information Technology: as a response to digital transformation across all sectors of the economy.
Prospective students showed strong interest in over 1,200 programs offered by Russian universities in Russian, French, and English. The affordable tuition fees, guaranteed hostel accommodation and international diploma recognition proved to be particularly attractive.
The Khemisset exhibition reaffirmed the sustained interest of Moroccan youth in quality, practice-oriented Russian higher education. RACUS group universities continue training specialists who meet the needs of Morocco’s high-potential economic regions.
