On July 22, 2025, a bilateral agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador on mutual recognition of education, qualifications, and academic degrees entered into force. This document became a significant step in enhancing scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries.
Salvadoran citizens are choosing Russian universities for higher education more and more often. Currently, students from El Salvador are pursuing Bachelor's, Specialist's, and Master's degree programs in Russia.
The agreement, developed in accordance with current educational standards, covers documents related to secondary, vocational, and higher education, as well as academic degrees. It significantly simplifies the admission process to Russian universities for Salvadoran citizens and guarantees recognition of Russian diplomas in the republic for employment purposes. In practical terms, the implementation of the agreement's provisions is supported by the activities of the RACUS group of Russian state universities, which systematically works to attract Salvadoran citizens to study in Russia while actively promoting Russian higher education in Latin America.
