On April 29–30 in Oran and May 1 in Tlemcen, international education exhibitions were held, featuring Russian higher education at the Study in Russia – 2025 stand. Representatives of the RACUS group of Russian state universities worked at the stand. Each city demonstrated its unique character both in architecture and cultural atmosphere, as well as in the interests of prospective students.

Oran, a major Mediterranean port city, is known for its openness to international cooperation and innovation. The exhibition's exceptional atmosphere was enhanced by its venue, one of the city’s most beautiful buildings, the former Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, now the Salle Médiathèque. Here, future students showed the greatest interest in engineering, IT, urban studies, and architecture, reflecting the city’s focus on technology, urban development, and modern design.

In contrast, Tlemcen, located closer to the mountainous regions and rich in historical and cultural heritage, showed a particular engagement in the humanities and medical fields. Programs such as General Medicine, Pharmacy, and Public Health were especially popular, driven by students’ strong interest in developing the region’s social and healthcare infrastructure.

In both cities, RACUS managers provided detailed consultations to prospective students and their parents regarding admissions, languages of instruction, application deadlines, and academic programs. The most sought-after universities in the RACUS group were Mari State University, Tambov State University, St. Petersburg State Chemical-Pharmaceutical University, and Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy, which offer programs taught in French.

The exhibitions in Oran and Tlemcen clearly demonstrated the growing interest in higher education at Russian state universities of the RACUS group. The differences in student preferences serve as an important reference point for RACUS to further refine its targeted, regionally adapted promotion strategy in Algeria.
