RACUS organization took part in the Conference of Russian Compatriots from Africa and Asia

On September 24th-25th, the Regional Youth Conference of Russian Compatriots from Africa and Asia was held in Hammamet, Tunisia. The project was organized by the public association “The Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots” (CCORC) of Tunisia with the support of the Russian Embassy in Tunis and the Government of Moscow. The theme of the event was "Unification and integration of youth into the compatriot movement". Among the delegates of the conference were Alexander Zolotov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the Republic of Tunisia, Yuri Zaitsev, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo in Tunisia, Maria Korobkina, Head of the Department for Organizing Events at the Moscow House of Compatriot, and others.

Marina Alimaskina, general representative of RACUS organization in Tunisia, took part in the event on behalf of RACUS organization. She addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Marina started her speech with a brief history of RACUS group of Russian state universities which was founded in 1991 with the support of the Association of Vice-Rectors for International Relations of state universities of St. Petersburg and Northwest Russia. She told the audience about the main principles of RACUS organization's activity in promotion of Russian higher education, the Russian language and the export of Russian higher education to Tunisia and other countries of Africa and Asia.

The RACUS representative emphasised that the organization has been working in Tunisia since 1995. The citizens of the Republic of Tunisia who graduated from Russian universities are now highly qualified sought-after Russian-speaking specialists in the modern labor market of the country. Thus, in the many years of work in Tunisia, RACUS organization has established itself as the ambassador of Russia in the humanitarian field, providing a valuable contribution to the development of the economy of the Republic of Tunisia. And today the country is still open to new projects, new collaborations and is interested in promoting Russian higher education in Africa and Asia, as well as all around the world.

RACUS organization, in its turn, is ready to create mutual ties with young representatives of the compatriot organizations in Tunisia and open new opportunities for the development of their potential through the popularization of Russian science and higher education.
