North Caucasus Federal University celebrated Africa Day: Here Is How It Went

North Caucasus Federal University, the largest university in the region, which forms a part of the Group of Russian state universities RACUS, celebrated its traditional holiday: Africa Day. The festival was organized by the Department of Foreign Students together with the Association of Foreign Students in Stavropol.

The festival was organized by the Department of Foreign Students together with the Association of Foreign Students in Stavropol.
Sergey Kozub, head of the Department of Foreign Students, expressed his support to the participants: "For every nation, freedom and independence are very important things that need to be fought for, including with their knowledge, skills, intelligence, moral and civic stance, so that there is true freedom and an opportunity to go forward. We are always ready to help you and give you the knowledge you came to our university for. Become high professionals, we wish you all to be well, healthy, happy and successful!"

Today, there are 242 students from 25 African countries at NCFU.  At the festival, the students demonstrated their talents and introduced their friends to their countries' culture.  It was an incredibly exciting performance! National dances followed by the songs about their native continent and bright costumes amazed the spectators with their variety. Also, the students performed modern songs and popular dance styles: contemporary, capoeira and others. &quotI am an African not because I was born in Africa, but because my heart is with Africa," these lines from the poem became the keynote of the celebration.
