On March 5–6, the RACUS GROUP of Russian State Universities took part in the annual international education exhibition held in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.
Namibia is a country with a population of about three million people, where the number of universities is limited and the number of programs offered in the country is relatively small. Due to high competition for places in local universities, many school graduates seek to continue their education abroad, and Russia becomes one of the most attractive education destinations for them. Russian universities traditionally generate great interest among Namibian youth due to the high quality of education, a wide selection of programs, affordable study and living conditions, and, most importantly for candidates, English as the language of instruction.
Over 2,000 visitors to the Russian booth "Study in Russia – RACUS GROUP" received consultations on the opportunities for obtaining higher education at Russian universities. Guests were able to learn about over 1,200 available programs, admission conditions, and tuition and living costs. Booth visitors received colorful brochures and detailed information about student life in Russia: living conditions, cultural environment, and professional development prospects after graduating from their chosen university. Individual consultations helped future students take the first step towards obtaining higher education at RACUS group universities.
Russian higher education, recognized as a crucial factor for sustainable global growth and social progress, can become a catalyst for strengthening academic, research, and innovative ties between Russia and Namibia. In a world facing technological breakthroughs and increasing demands on the workforce, training highly qualified personnel at Russian universities for Namibia can be decisive for forming the human capital and knowledge ecosystems that meet the needs of the Namibian economy.
Annually, with the assistance of the RACUS GROUP organization, several hundred applicants from Western Africa enroll in Russian universities for medical, engineering, and economics programs. Students from Namibia hold a special place in this process, making a significant contribution to the development of the international student environment in Russian universities.
