On March 4, 2022, a conference was held between the group of Russian state universities "RACUS", Tambov State University (TSU), and Njala University (Sierra Leone). RACUS organization was represented by its General Director A.H Nutsalov, Tatiana Sesay, head of the RACUS representative office in Sierra Leone and the Republic of Guinea, TSU, by the Rector's Advisor for International Education T.G. Osadchaya and the Director of the Medical Institution N.I. Voronin. Njala University's Vice Chancellor and Principal Andrew Baima and the dean of School of Community Health Sciences Rashid Ansumana assisted the conference from Sierra Leone.
This conference became a vivific spring at the origins of friendship and cooperation in the field of education between Russia and Sierra Leone. In the 21st century, any positive communication with the ultimate goal to create a friendly environment for a quality education and personal growth, is regarded as a contribution to our common happy future.During the conference, the parties discussed cooperation between two leading universities in Russia and Sierra Leone. Medical specialties are very popular in Sierra Leone due to the acute shortage of qualified doctors, so the issue of cooperation and exchange with the Medical Institute of Tambov State University was paramount. The representatives of the Universities exchanged inspiring and ambitious plans, discussed the strategic ways of developing relations between the Universities and enlisted the support of colleagues in implementation of joint investment projects for intercultural exchange.International cooperation in education develops a person's ability to evaluate phenomena from the perspective of another person, another culture, another social and economic paradigm. Young people of Sierra Leone are interested in getting higher education in Russia, and this opens up a wide space for the implementation of cooperation projects with the country's leading universities and contributes to the integration of Sierra Leone's education system into the global educational space. History begins with such agreements, and each country could find a plenty of opportunities for growth in one another.We wish our colleagues from the Universities a fruitful cooperation.
