On July 7, 2025, Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin (TSU) held a solemn graduation ceremony for its international graduates that became a significant event not only for the graduates themselves but also for the entire university. The guest of honor at the 2025 graduation ceremony was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Gabonese Republic to the Russian Federation, Mr. Sosthene Ndemby, who visited Tambov at the invitation of the university administration.
As part of his visit, an extensive cultural program was organized for the Ambassador, including a visit to the city’s historical and cultural landmarks and a meeting with the administration of TSU and the General Director of the RACUS organization, A. Nutsalov. During the discussions, key issues related to developing cooperation in education and prospects for training specialists for the Gabonese Republic were addressed.
The university’s rector P. Moiseev together with the Ambassador, Mr. Sosthene Ndemby, personally awarded higher education diplomas to Gabonese graduates on stage. In his speech, Mr. Ndemby congratulated the graduates and expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to their academic training, emphasizing the outstanding quality of Russian higher education and the need for truly qualified professionals to support Gabon’s dynamic economic growth. The ambassador further highlighted that TSU currently hosts the largest number of Gabonese citizens among all Russian universities. This strong preference is attributed to the university’s rigorous academic standards, comfortable study and living conditions, affordable tuition fees, and a diverse range of over 160 programs available in Russian, English, and French.
During his visit, Mr. Ndemby also gave an interview to a Tambov television channel, underscoring the importance of cooperation with Russian state universities in cultivating skilled professionals for Gabon.
The General Director of the RACUS organization invited Mr. Ndemby to visit the organization’s central office in St. Petersburg. The ambassador gratefully accepted this invitation, expressing his appreciation and commitment to continuing the fruitful cooperation that began in 1995.
