From April 21 to 25, 2025, the "Days of Russian Higher Medical Education" were held in the capital of Tunisia. The event took place in the heart of the city, in the Belvédère business district.

Prospective students and their parents received comprehensive information about medical programs offered by the Russian state universities of the RACUS group. Special attention was given to fields such as General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, and residency programs.

The choice of these specialties is not a mere coincidence. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Tunisia has only about 13 doctors per 10,000 people—almost three times fewer than in European countries. The situation is aggravated by the mass migration of professionals: between 2017 and 2022, over 1,300 qualified doctors left the country to seek employment abroad. This has created a severe shortage of healthcare professionals, leaving the younger generation with the critical task of filling this gap.

In this context, RACUS group universities provide a systemic solution. Thanks to modern educational programs, high-quality training, and the opportunity to study in French or English at a very affordable cost (ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 per academic year), they offer Tunisian applicants a pathway to a prestigious, demanded, and promising career.
Among the most sought-after universities of the RACUS group were:
— Tambov State University
— Mari State University
— Astrakhan State Medical University
— Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy
— St. Petersburg State Chemical-Pharmaceutical University
— St. Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine
The “Days of Russian Higher Medical Education”, organized by RACUS, once again confirmed that Russian medical education meets the pressing needs of Tunisian society and can play a key role in training the next generation of healthcare professionals for the Republic of Tunisia.
