A meeting of representatives of the Medical Faculty of the University of Monastir (Tunisia) and Tambov State University (Russia) organized by the Group of Russian state universities RACUS took place in Tunisia.
On October 25th, 2022, the General Director of RACUS organization, Avbakar Nutsalov, and the Adviser to the Rector for International Affairs of Tambov State University (Tambov, Russia), Tatiana Osadchaya, met with the administration of the Medical Faculty of the University of Monastir (Monastir, Tunisia). The Russian delegation was warmly and cordially welcomed by the Director of the Medical Faculty, Charfeddine Amri, who gave them a tour around the university and spoke about the technical equipment, specifics of working in the University and the humane ideas that the Medical Faculty promotes. During the meeting, all work-related issues and potential opportunities for cooperation between Tambov State University and the University of Monastir were discussed. The colleagues also presented preliminary plans for the teaching staff and students exchange which will help to integrate scientific approaches and cultures by sharing experience and training practice. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop strategies for their partnership, continuing a joint dialogue in May-June 2023 for signing a cooperation agreement. A special advantage of Tambov State University is the availability of fundamental educational programs "General Medicine", "Dentistry" and "Pharmacy" with training not only in Russian, but also in French and English. The possibility to study in one of the three languages expands the opportunities for cooperation and inter-university exchange of students and teaching staff as it allows to eliminate the language barrier. The Group of Russian State Universities RACUS expresses its deepest gratitude for the cordial welcome in Tunisia and warm atmosphere during the meeting. Even at official receptions, the hospitality and cordiality of the welcoming party is highly appreciated in diplomatic circles and could be a fertile ground for successful agreements.
