Every study program is designed with a purpose to teach the students how to use theoretical knowledge in their professional activities. That is why theoretical classes at the university always go together with practicals. It is possible to practice in the following centers:
- Center for Simulation and Accreditation, one of the most advanced centers in Russia, owing to its equipment and organization. It is equipped with various phantoms, training models and machines, virtual simulators and other technical training devices which permit the accurate modelling of processes, clinical situations and other issues of medical work;
- The Derzhavin technological cluster, which consists of 79 scientific centers and laboratories. Young scientists under supervision of experienced professors participate in research work in different fields: mathematical modeling and IT, medicine, nanotechnologies and nanomaterials, chemistry, ecology, biotechnologies and agriculture, geoinformational technologies, etc.
The University’s Library has about 1.5 million books, telecommunication, electronic and multimedia equipment, copy machines and free internet access.
Student life
Students are accommodated in 9 comfortable university hostels in rooms for 2–3 people. Every hostel has well-equipped kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, study rooms and Internet access.
Starting from the very first year, students actively participate in scientific, academic, creative and sport life. They have plenty of opportunities to develop their creative potential.
There are more than 60 active student unions:
- university stand-up comedy club;
- musical and dance theaters;
- brass bands and orchestras;
- ballroom dance club “University Fiesta”;
- young spectator's theater;
- dance theater “Ovation”;
- historical reconstruction club;
- legal aid bureau “Law Clinic” where students may seek professional consultation for free.
A lot of attention is paid to sports activities. There is a physical training facility and a fitness center “Athletico” with two swimming pools, many gyms, and playgrounds. The university has an open football field with artificial turf, which is transformed into a skating rink in winter.
The University's recreation facility "Galdym" is open for tourists and participants of different summer and winter schools, master classes and workshops.
Social and cultural events play an important role in students’ life. Foreign students eagerly participate in different creative contests, all-Russian and international festivals. The University arranges many tours and trips to Russian cultural centers.
TSU is doing a great job in international students’ adaptation, providing support and assistance during all the period of studies until their graduation and returning to home-countries with diplomas of higher education.
The University awards graduates a diploma of the Russian national standard, which certifies the receipt of higher education and indicates the degree/qualification and specialty received.
