- Platov South-Russian State Polytechnic University was founded in 1907 with the approval of Emperor Nicholas II and is named after the General Matvey Platov, the Don ataman and hero of the Patriotic War of 1812.

Student life
All international students are provided with a place (2–3 people per room) in one of the 12 comfortable and modern university dormitories for the whole period of study. Wi-Fi connection is available. The student campus is a separate, well-maintained area located 500 meters from the academic buildings. There is a gym, a swimming pool, a stadium, a café and a recreation area on the campus.
